Community Assistance

We are fortunate to have local organizations in Hamilton County such as the Food Pantry, Backpack Program, Senior Center and Ministerial Association Cheer Fund who are serving the emergency needs of our community. The following community-based nonprofit organizations are directly supporting critical food and housing needs for individuals, families and seniors seeking assistance as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

HAMILTON COUNTY FOOD PANTRY

The Hamilton County Food Pantry provides emergency meals. While the inside is closed until further notice, clients can sign up to receive food pantry items generally 1-2 times a month.

New clients should bring a piece of mail with your name and address on it to complete an assistance form.

Hours are:

Tuesday 11:30 am – 12:30 p.m. Thursday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Saturday 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

The Food Pantry is located at 1118 N St. Aurora. To receive food, please stay in your car and a volunteer will greet you.

The phone number is a MESSAGE PHONE ONLY since there are no office hours and services are provided by volunteers. If you wish to leave a message to be returned within the week, the number is 402-694-6979.

HAMILTON COUNTY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION CHEER FUND

The Cheer Fund is administered by the Hamilton County Ministerial Association. This fund provides emergency assistance to individuals and families who reside in Hamilton County for housing, utilities or other urgent needs. With supporting documents, up to $300 per household may be provided annually with vouchers paid directly to the business/vendor.

For assistance, call one of the churches in Hamilton County Church Monday- Friday 8 a.m.
– 5 p.m. for assistance information.

HAMILTON COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

The Hamilton County Senior Center continues to provide meals even though programming is discontinued until further notice.

HOME DELIVERED MEALS will continue running as normal. If you are worried about getting out and would like your meal delivered please let us know and we can make that happen.

CENTER MEALS: Drive Through meals will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in our garage. You will enter on the east side and receive your meal and exit the west. If you are interested in getting a to go meal please call us by 9:00 a.m. to make sure there will be enough meals.
