Scholarship Guidelines

Scholarships and Educational Grants are one of the finest ways a person can extend a portion of their estate, be it large or modest, to encourage young people on their pursuit of an education.  Oftentimes, this encouragement is just what it takes to keep a young person educationally motivated.

In the 2022- 2023 school year, 107 scholarships totaling $237,900 were awarded.  The Foundation has awarded over 3,300 scholarships in the past 57 years.  There are now 96 scholarship funds.  Additional scholarships are awarded from designated gifts, and various funds as deemed appropriate.

We hosted our 2nd annual scholarship breakfast April 18 where we honored and celebrated our donors and scholarship recipients. Donors and recipients were able to meet and have breakfast together.

The 2023 - 2024 scholarship application is available online December 15, 2023 and all applications must be submitted by 4:00pm on February 15, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.

HCF reviewers have a blind review process which allows the donor criteria to drive the scholarship selection. If awarded a scholarship, students will be notified via email and will have follow-up questions to answer. Funds are sent directly to the college or university the beginning of August and are applied equally to the first and second semester.

For scholarship assistance, please email scholarships@hcfne.org or call 402-694-3200.
